
The National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies (INCDTIM) Cluj-Napoca announces the successful completion of three research projects funded through Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Component 9 – Support for the Private Sector, Research, Development and Innovation, Investment 8 – Development of a Programme to Attract Highly Skilled Human Resources from Abroad for Research, Development and Innovation Activities.
The three projects, carried out within the institute until 30 June 2026, addressed highly relevant research topics with significant impact on the development of advanced materials and innovative technologies:
- Boosting the Energy Storage Performance of Supercapacitor Materials by Controlling the Paramagnetic Centers (Project Director: Dr. Emre Erdem) – focused on the development of innovative nanocomposites for supercapacitor electrodes, contributing to improved energy storage performance.
- Molecular Carbon Nanostructures: Establishing a Green Synthesis, Studying Properties, and Examining Potential Applications (Project Director: Dr. Mihaela Stuparu) – aimed at developing environmentally friendly synthesis methods for molecular carbon nanostructures and exploring their potential applications in materials science.
- Development of New Polymeric Antibacterial Materials (Project Director: Dr. Anzarul Khan) – focused on the development of novel antibacterial agents based on sulfonium-containing dendrimers, with the potential to combat pathogenic bacteria while reducing the risk of antimicrobial resistance.
Through the implementation of these projects, INCDTIM has strengthened its research and innovation capacity, attracted highly skilled researchers, and contributed to the development of scientific solutions with potential impact in the fields of energy, advanced materials, and health. All project objectives were successfully achieved, and the projects were completed as planned.
